So what exactly is a Shaped CD?  Good question.

Have you ever come across a CD that didn’t quite look like a CD?  Maybe it was too small or wasn’t that standard donut shape.  Like people, CDs come in a variety of different shapes and sizes. We also make custom CDs in a range of interesting and unique shapes (square, mini-round, business card, triangular, etc).

But what’s the point? Why Shaped CDs?

Like the proverbial peacock and his eye-catching plumage, Shaped CDs get people’s attention.  People notice the unexpected and when it comes to CDs we’ve come to expect that standard, 120mm diameter circle.  As such, many businesses are using Shaped CDs as promotional tools.

They can be used for sales and marketing brochures, as business cards, tradeshow giveaways, and product promotions/catalogues, as well as for annual reports, newsletters, and by musicians for their songs and videos.

They’re also great for direct mail promotional campaigns.  While most people simply throw away the run-of-the-mill promotional flyer without even looking at it, it’s impossible not to take notice when an unusual looking CD arrives in the mail.  People will often pop the odd looking CD into their computer just to see if it’ll actually work.  And when they do, of course it works.  Shaped CDs have the same high quality and playability as standard CDs, but simply come in smaller sizes.  These reduced sizes allow them to be carried around easily and distributed effectively during marketing campaigns.
